A Blog about Narcissists and Their Flying Monkeys

In Greek mythology, the story of Narcissus and Ekho is a tale of unrequited love, self-absorption, and tragic consequences. Narcissus was a charismatic and charming man, who was also exceedingly vain and proud. Ekho was an introverted nymph who lived in the mountains. Her ability to speak was cursed by Hera, the queen of the gods, leaving her with the ability only to repeat the last words spoken to her.

One day, Narcissus went hunting in the woods, and Ekho, who had observed him from a distance, became smitten with him. As she followed him through the forest, she longed to express her feelings but could only repeat his words. When she finally revealed herself and confessed her love, Narcissus, led her on but never returned her affection. Instead, he was too enamored with himself to ever think about anyone else.

Heartbroken and devastated, Ekho withdrew into the depths of the forest, her love unreciprocated. She withered away, condemned to repeat the words of others without ever expressing her own thoughts or feelings, until only her voice remained.

I know no one so willing to ruin their own life, my life, the life of their kids, and the life of their friends, than my narcissist.
